Sunderland goalkeeper Lee Camp is ready to play a part in the club’s battle against relegation.
As reported by Chronicle Live, Sunderland goalkeeper Lee Camp has stated that he’s ready to play a role in their survival push after being sent out to the North East club on loan.
Camp was in goal for last weekend’s bizarre 3-3 draw with Bristol City, which saw Sunderland come from 3-0 down to snatch what could be a vital point come the end of the season.
“It always seems to be the case when you go out on loan, you never seem to go to a team that is doing well, it is always somewhere where you’re needed or the team is struggling,” says the goalkeeper.
“I’ve been about and experienced enough to know that it is not over until it is over, one result doesn’t decide anything. It is a case of being consistent and getting results.
Camp, who is on loan from Championship high-flyers Cardiff City, has been in this position before. The 33-year-old played a part in the survival campaigns of both Nottingham Forest and Rotherham United in prior seasons.
The next step in Sunderland’s journey will see them host Brentford at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
