Birmingham City captain Michael Morrison has spoken about his side’s Friday night loss to Nottingham Forest.
Life at Birmingham City was going brilliantly for fans and players alike, with the Midlands side on a brilliant run of form that left them in the play-off positions. Unfortunately, all good things in football eventually come to an end and that reality was met by Blues fans on Friday night when they suffered a 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest. As everyone knows the unpredictability of this league is always tough, but this would have particularly stung due to the result ending their unbeaten streak. As reported by Birmingham Mail, skipper Michael Morrison has spoken about the defeat.
The 28-year-old defender has insisted that manager Gary Rowett should not be blamed for the loss, instead stating that poor energy levels and disappointing individual performances contributed more to Forest’s triumph at the City Ground.
“I think Robbo is experienced enough, we have played together enough, I don’t think that was why the goals were conceded,” he said when speaking about Paul Robinson’s inclusion.
“It was just one of those things, I definitely don’t think it was because we switched it around at the back – we had to anyway.
“We probably haven’t done well individually.
“We know if we are not at the right energy levels and not got the right quality then we are not going to in games – we need to be at it 100 per cent every time.”
The scoreline is the same as their last defeat before their recent run of good form which was against rivals Wolves, however with a winnable set of fixtures coming up supporters will be hoping the Blues can bounce back with impact when they host Rotherham United tomorrow night.
