Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah still believes that Aston Villa are capable of winning the Championship.

Aston Villa favourite Albert Adomah was complimentary of Wolverhampton Wanderers during a recent interview with The Boot Room, although he still believes the club have the ability to challenge their local rivals for the Championship title.

Adomah is someone who probably has not been as appreciated outside of the Villa bubble as he has been inside of it, with his fantastic performances this season being reflected by his stunning goalscoring form for the club.

Unfortunately, injuries happen and he has been forced to sit out the last few games, but that does not seem to have impacted his positive mental attitude towards the push for promotion.

“We just need to keep on doing well and chase Wolves as they are doing great,” Adomah told The Boot Room.

“If we chase Wolves we will have a great chance of automatic promotion and if Wolves slip up perhaps we could win the league… But everything is down to our performances.”

Adomah is someone who comes across as a guy who helps to piece Aston Villa Football Club together, not only through his work ethic, but through his clear affection for the team and his surrounding players.

The 30-year-old is one of the older players within the regular starting line-up, and that is a vital role to have within a promotion chasing side. While it is certainly important to possess high-quality game-winners, which he is, Adomah also seems to enjoy contributing to the team as a whole instead of just his own personal performance.

Villa have been lacking a leader on the pitch for a couple years now, and while Adomah alone may not fit that role, they seem to have a handful of players within the squad who are willing to fight for every ball and really battle for the badge on their shirt.

You have to question whether or not that’s due to the influence of manager Steve Bruce, who seems to be developing an ability to rally players in times of need at Villa Park.
