Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia continues to be a man of the people – kind of.

Dr Tony Xia, Chairman of Aston Villa walks the pitch during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City at Villa Park on April 23, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

Aston Villa have been on a rollercoaster ride over the course of this season and, with just a few weeks remaining, their fate still remains uncertain. There is the possibility of them going up automatically, they could win the play-offs, or they could even miss out on promotion altogether; but one thing is for sure, the positive influence of chairman Tony Xia has never wavered.

Despite that, however, Xia felt the need to write a letter to the fans regarding the fate of the club, as reported by AVFC.co.uk. It covers a lot of ground regarding how things have gone throughout the campaign, with the quotes below showcasing just what Villa means to the Chinese businessman.

Aston Villa fans look dejected during the FA Cup Final between Aston Villa and Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on May 30, 2015 in London, England.

“On every game day, despite having a long, hard working day, I sit in front of the TV past midnight to closely follow your performance,” he wrote.

“Just like everyone seated at the dinner last night, whether it was the blissfulness of victory or the tears of sorrow from defeat, we will always stand together by each other’s side.”

Tony Xia, Owner of Aston Villa looks on ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Sunderland at Villa Park on November 21, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

It is clear to see that he is speaking from the heart and, while the upcoming games against Derby County and Millwall may not mean much to some people, two wins could really give them a big boost if they do wind up in the play-offs.

The Villa faithful have recognised the merits of Xia’s letter, too, whereas others have separate issues.
