Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has said that he is concerned about his side’s form heading into the derby game against Arsenal.
It has been a tricky month for Tottenham Hotspur as they are currently enduring a six-game winless run following their triumph over Manchester City. The baffling drop in form seems utterly inexplicable, especially considering that people were tipping them for a title run in the wake of their strong start to the campaign. As reported by the Daily Express, midfielder Dele Alli has spoke about his concern regarding their current run as the club prepares for the North London derby against rivals Arsenal.
Their Champions League loss to Bayer Leverkusen this week certainly did not help matters, as Spurs continued their disastrous tenure at Wembley Stadium for European games. In the wake of that defeat, Alli seemed bemused when it came to what has happened over the last few weeks.
“I don’t think anyone can work out what is wrong,” Alli said to the Daily Express.
“We are playing well but we have got to finish our chances and have got to keep going.
“Tottenham is a club looking to move forward and we have confidence in our ability.
“We are a young team but we expect ourselves to perform against anyone.”
Alli has often been highlighted as one of the shining lights for Spurs over the last year or so, but even the young Englishman cannot turn things around on his own.
In terms of momentum the odds have been increasingly stacked against Spurs heading into the North London derby, with rivals Arsenal in red hot form. However, one potentially huge positive will be that talisman Harry Kane is on the verge of a return and could well feature at the Emirates Stadium.
