Rangers fans have been through it all over the last few years, and only now are they just starting to climb back up to where they once were.

Under manager Mark Warburton, Rangers are starting to adapt to life back in the Scottish Premiership after a few years away from the big time. They are still a long way from reaching the heights of rivals Celtic, but the important thing is that they have found their way back from the brink. Back in 2011, things were looking a lot different.

Five years ago under Ally McCoist, the club were dealing with many issues as they prepared for the 2011/12 season. Despite all the behind the scenes troubles they tried their best to keep up with rivals Celtic, but ultimately the Bhoys ran away with the title by 20 points.

Rangers struggled on all fronts in terms of domestic competitions, and once the season was over the writing was on the wall for the club as their problems finally caught up with them. They were reported to be in debt of over £150 million, and the club ended up going into liquidation and getting relegated to the Third Division of Scottish football.

These turbulent times would never be wished upon any club, and Rangers supporters in particular will never want to go back to such a dark time in the history of their team. In the present day, despite it taking some time to get used to life back in the SPL, at least they have hope.

They have a direction under Warburton and for the first time in a long time it feels like the old Rangers are on the verge of coming back.
