As Ian Holloway prepares for his second time round as Queens Park Rangers manager, it’s time to take a look back at his first tenure.
Ian Holloway is like marmite, either you love him or you hate him. One way or another you cannot deny that he has done some impressive things throughout his managerial career, and now he looks set to try to find success once again with Queens Park Rangers.
In terms of his previous tenure with the London club, some people may not realise that he actually spent five whole years with QPR. Aside from his triumphs with Crystal Palace and Blackpool some would not have realised that he has achieved promotion elsewhere.

While at Loftus Road he unfortunately experienced relegation to the third tier with the club, however he decided to stay on and rebuild them from the ground up. He succeeded, gaining promotion back into the Championship in 2004.
The club then proceeded to hover around mid-table for a few years before he was dismissed, but it was certainly an interesting time for the man they call ‘Ollie’.
He has not really experienced an extended period of time in one place like he did at QPR, which could be seen by many as an omen for success this time round once again.
Given the stability he brought back to Loftus Road, who knows what the 53-year-old could achieve with some money in the bank.
