The PFL will make its first trip to Nigeria this summer, heading to Lagos for a major event on June 13.
Currently the second-largest MMA promotion in the world, the PFL has already put on shows this year in Dubai, Madrid, Pittsburgh, Belfast and Chicago. Their latest effort is focused on their Africa series, which just got underway in Pretoria.
Now they’re taking things further west with an event set for the Eko Convention Center in Lagos. Scheduled for June 13, it falls right around UFC White House weekend and should give fans something extra to watch.
Headlining what’s being called the biggest MMA card in West African history, Lagos’ own Wasi “The Nigerian Jaguar” Adeshina faces Spain’s Ignacio “Nacho” Campos. In the co-main event, Nigeria’s Patrick “Star Boi” Ocheme meets Cameroon’s Octave “The Bantu Warrior” Ayinda.
While the main event features a featherweight clash, most of the evening will be focused on early-round fights from the lightweight and bantamweight PFL Africa tournaments. More bouts are expected to be added soon as matchups are finalised.
