Ale Moreno has questioned why Real Madrid would sign Liverpool and Tottenham transfer target Joško Gvardiol given the quality and depth Carlo Ancelotti already has at the back, as he told ESPN.
The Croatia World Cup star was one of the standout performers in Qatar and Moreno pointed out how his ‘price has gone up’, as a result.
Alongside the current European Cup holders, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are also looking at the 20-year-old RB Leipzig centre-back, who has been playing Champions League football this season and performing to a high standard.

On paper, Real Madrid might not need him right now, but as they have shown with their midfield captures in recent times, they would still be willing to buy for the future and stock up talent in order to continue their dominance, especially in Europe.
Perhaps Gvardiol is going to be the next kid off the block, at the end of the day, the Spanish giants like buying a player off the back of a strong World Cup campaign.
This is one certainly to watch out for and whilst Gvardiol would walk to Real Madrid given the chance, Moreno questioned why they would splash so much money on him.
“You think about who as a player he would be backing up and that’s David Alaba,” said Moreno. “He has been outstanding for Real Madrid.
“I don’t think, at this point in his career, you want to put him out as a left-back – in terms of needs, which is different to ‘wants’. For the needs of Real Madrid, I don’t think they need another centre-back.
“I don’t think that right now is the moment to go and spend all this money on Gvardiol, given how hot he was at the World Cup and how his price has gone up. I don’t know if this is the one you go chasing down if you are Real Madrid.”

TOTTENHAM AND LIVERPOOL IN THE TRANSFER MARKET
With Arsenal sitting at the top of the Premier League and surprising many with their start to the campaign, added with Newcastle United spoiling the party and sitting in the Champions League places.
Then the race for Champions League football might cause a few upsets this season and Liverpool and Spurs don’t want to be on the end of that.
Therefore, this forthcoming transfer window could be crucial in the gears changing for the second half of the campaign, and as Spurs proved last January with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, those new faces can make a big, big difference.
