Aston Villa fans on Twitter were thrilled to see Josh Onomah produce a stunning goal for Fulham during their play-off encounter last night.
Onomah, who spent a season on-loan at Villa two seasons ago, netted a brilliant solo goal for Fulham as they beat Cardiff 2-0 in the first-leg of their semi-final play-off clash.
In the opening minutes of the second half, the attack-minded midfielder, who had his back to goal on the edge of the penalty area, spun round, beat a couple of players before putting the ball into the back of the net.
Scott Parker’s side went onto dominate the rest of the half before Neeskens Kebano scored a brilliant free-kick in stoppage-time.
Onomah is well aware of what it is like to reach a play-off final because he did so for Villa in 2018.
Ironically enough, it was Fulham who beat Villa at Wembley on that day with Onomah coming off the bench, as he will be hoping to be on the winning side this time around.
Nonetheless, the Villa Park faithful were pretty impressed with Onomah’s performance and goal yesterday, as some think he is now fulfilling his potential.
