Stevie Nicol has told Liverpool to sign Sofyan Amrabat’s teammate with Morocco and Newcastle United transfer target, Azzedine Ounahi, ahead of the January transfer window opening, as he told ESPN.

Whilst the Anfield legend wants Liverpool to sign Amrabat as well, he also thinks Jurgen Klopp needs his partner in crime in the middle of the park.

Morocco created history by reaching the last-four of the Qatar World Cup and it has resulted in the stock of many players going through the roof during these past few weeks.

Angers’ ball-carrying expert Ounahi is one of those players, with Eddie Howe’s high-flying Newcastle United expressing an interest in the player.

More than likely, if the Reds do push for a Morocco midfielder in January, then it will be Amrabat, but Nicol feels the attacking talents of Ounahi are also needed.

“I think if Amrabat’s available,” said Nicol. “I think there is no question. Liverpool needs bulking up in the middle of the park and he would be absolutely fantastic.

“I wouldn’t mind his partner in the middle either, Ounahi.”

PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE ON THE CARDS…

At 22, and after a very strong World Cup, if Ounahi is going to leave, then it will be next month when his stock is very, very high.

A team like Liverpool don’t need him, at this moment in time, because they have Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho on their books.

But a possible transfer to Newcastle would be understandable because the Magpies need more attacking competition in the middle of the pitch and Ounahi would provide that.
