Aberdeen defender Mark Reynolds has hailed Celtic loanee Ryan Christie.

Aberdeen defender Mark Reynolds has told the club’s official website that Celtic loanee Ryan Christie is the most complete player he has seen.

Christie, 22, emerged through the ranks with hometown club Inverness Caledonian Thistle, becoming one of the top young talents in Scottish football after scoring nine goals in 67 appearances.

The playmaker earned a move to Celtic in September 2015, but has played just 10 games for the Bhoys having been loaned back to Inverness, and then sent on loan to Aberdeen in January, then again over the summer.

This term, Christie has impressed at Pittodrie, notching three goals and seven assists in 14 games in all competitions, after scoring seven times in 15 games for the Dons last season.

Christie is excelling with Aberdeen, and he will be hoping to make a lasting impression on Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, ahead of returning to Glasgow at the end of the season.

Given that Rodgers also has the likes of Stuart Armstrong, Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic at his disposal, Christie faces a battle for first-team football with Celtic, but he has been hailed by Aberdeen defender Mark Reynolds.

Reynolds has told the Aberdeen official website that whilst he has played with good players throughout his career, Christie stands out as the most complete player he has ever seen.

Reynolds praised Christie’s technique, passing and work rate, even stating that ‘his feet are a joke’, giving Celtic fans a reason to get excited about their young playmaker.

“I have played with some good players, been involved in international squads, but I can’t emphasise enough how much I rate Ryan Christie,” said Reynolds. “He is the most complete player I have seen. He is so good on the ball, anywhere on the park. He finds space. His feet are a joke.”

“His technique, his passing, he can run all day, he has got a bit of fight in him and a nasty streak. He has goals in him as well. I have made no secret of how highly I rate him. When we are playing well he can take us to that next level.
