The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward has struggled for form recently.
When writing his regular column for the Express & Star, Wolves legend Steve Bull explained how Diogo Jota has not been himself recently, when looking for reasons why Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have not been firing on all cylinders of late.
The Black Country outfit currently sit at the top of the Championship table, six points clear of second placed Cardiff City, but they are in the midst of their first real sticky patch of the season so far, having taken just two points from their last three league games.
Saturday’s defeat to Fulham really must have been hard to take for Wolves fans, with their side coming off second best in every department against the Cottagers.
Bull, who scored a club record 306 goals for Wolves, discussed Jota’s performance at Craven Cottage, when writing his regular column for the Express & Star, and suggested that the Portuguese is suffering from a lack of confidence:
“The second half we weren’t great at all and just created that one chance at the end – I don’t know how Diogo Jota missed it. Perhaps his confidence is a bit low as that wasn’t like him at all.”
Next up for Wolves is a home game against Reading in the Championship on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do, as the chasing pack continue their pursuit of Nuno’s men.
