Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has spoken highly of Oliver Skipp to Football.London following the North London derby.

Spurs got the better of Arsenal 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Skipp did not start the match against the Gunners, but the 19-year-old midfielder came on as a substitute in the 84th minute.

The teenager did give a good account of himself after coming on and did well in the middle of the park.

Mourinho told Football.London about Skipp: ”I know his blood is Spurs blood. I know what it means for him to beat Arsenal. I have a special feeling for him because I know what it means for him.”

One for the future

Skipp is a very good and promising young midfielder, and Mourinho giving him the chance to play in the North London derby shows how highly he rates him.

The England Under-21 international has played quite a few games for the Spurs first team already in his career, and he would get a lot more chances next season.

Mourinho knows how to handle young and talented players, and if Skipp listens to the Portuguese and works hard in training, then he will flourish under the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss.
