The 28-year-old admitted to rejecting Celtic back in 2016.

Celtic have taken right-back Moses Odubajo on their pre-season tour of Austria.
The Hull City ace, whose contract expires this weekend, clearly has a chance to join the Hoops on a Bosman if he can impress manager Brendan Rodgers over the coming weeks.
Rodgers definitely needs a new right-back at Celtic, with Mikael Lustig clearly struggling during the second half of last season, but had things been different in 2016 then he might have a very gifted one.
Japan international defender Hiroki Sakai told the print edition of France Football last September that he turned down a move to Parkhead and Ajax in favour of joining Marseille two years ago.

But the 28-year-old might be on the move again, with The Mirror’s Live Transfer Blog [27/06/2018, 13:31] reporting that Crystal Palace are readying a £12 million offer.
Rodgers is clearly a fan if he wanted him in Glasgow and Sakai could open old wounds for the Celtic boss if he joins the Eagles and impresses in the Premier League, for the Northern Irishman could be regularly reminded of the talent that he almost had once upon a time.
It’s worth noting that Celtic haven’t exactly struggled since being snubbed by the 44-capped star, because Rodgers has led the Bhoys to back-to-back domestic trebles, but if he gets a £12 million transfer then few can argue that they wouldn’t have been stronger with Sakai than without him.
