Alan Smith has stated that Arsenal’s midfield ‘doesn’t look right’ at this moment in time, as he told Off the Ball.
The former Highbury striker thinks someone like Partey is currently ‘hindering the team’ with his recent performances.
Arsenal suffered a 3-2 defeat at Manchester United on Thursday night, despite the Old Trafford-based club being in all sorts of bother going into the match and being 1-0 down to a freak Emile Smith Rowe goal.
Like many of the Arsenal players, it was another night of questioning on whether those out on the field are good enough to take the North London club to the next level.
Partey has actually been one of Arsenal’s better performers this season, but the 28-year-old was off it against Manchester United.
Club legend Smith suggested that the Ghanian is becoming a problem for Arsenal in the middle of the park.
“There are still some problems within that side,” said Smith. “The midfield doesn’t look right.
“Thomas Partey’s not playing particularly well, at the moment and that’s hindering the team I think.”

The Gunners have been accused of being flat-track bullies this season and that has been proven by the defeats they have suffered against teams they aren’t excepted to beat.
On Monday night, they face a team they will be expected to beat in Everton, who are winless in eight and are probably on the verge of sacking their manager Rafa Benitez.
When it comes to reading the Premier League table, Arsenal are just sitting outside of the Champions League places, so on that note, all should be rosy in the garden.
Despite that, there still seems to be an air of questioning in North London about how good Arteta’s side really are because they seem to be swaying one way, then the next, each week.
