Potter has only managed in the Premier League for one season, but he has quickly impressed – with Brighton playing an excellent style of football.

And Everton supporters seem to feel that he could be an excellent appointment for them, as they look for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.

Justifiable hype

Everton fans’ excitement about the potential appointment is understandable.

Potter seems to be one of the best up and coming managers out there, and his methods are very forward-thinking.

However, there are question marks over how well higher calibre players would take to them.

It would also represent a big shift in plans from Everton when they appointed Ancelotti.

When the Italian arrived at Goodison Park he was one of the most successful managers in modern day football and his arrival really raised eye-brows.

Potter’s appointment wouldn’t send shockwaves in the same way, but over the long-term it could turn out to be a very clever move for the Toffees.
