Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen hasn’t ruled out a permanent move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer after an exceptional start in the Bundesliga.

HITC Football had revealed that Borussia Dortmund signed Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho as well as Ian Maatsen from Chelsea on six-month loan deals.

Maatsen was immediately integrated into the Black and Yellows’ lineup playing the full 90 minutes in their 3-0 victory away at Darmstadt last week.

The 21-year-old’s sensational debut warranted his spot at left-back as he was in Dortmund‘s starting eleven when they travelled to face Koln on Saturday.

“I feel like I’ve been playing with these guys for many years,” Maatsen said via WAZ. “If we continue like this, we will achieve great things.”

“The assist was outstanding. I showed a good reaction after initially losing the ball. As a player, I like being on the ball in difficult situations, it gives me goosebumps.

“I’m leaving all options open. I would like to come back. Why not? We’ll see what the future brings,” he added.

Maatsen continues to impress

“You can lose the ball, but not your game,” Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said on Maatsen.

“What made him stand out was that, despite some things that didn’t go so well, he didn’t abandon his positional discipline, the way he wanted the ball and our common game idea.

“Because we know about his ball security and technical skills in tight spaces, we often moved him into the centre of the double six during the build-up game,
