According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham are now interested in Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.
It’s not too surprising to hear that Fulham are keen on Doucoure. After all, Marco Silva is their manager.
Silva has managed Doucoure before, not at Everton, but at Watford where the Frenchman cut his teeth in English football.
Even after leaving Watford, Silva made it known that he was a big fan of the Frenchman, praising him alongside some of Watford’s other players ahead of a game against the Hornets a few years ago.

Silva gave Doucoure a glowing review in the past.
“They have players of high individual quality – Chalobah is a high quality player, so is Doucoure, and then in the attack line they have players like Will Hughes, Pererya, Deulofeu, Troy Deeney,” Silva said.
“It will be tough, for sure, because they have the quality to create problems in each moment of the match.”
Bad omen
While it’s great to see that Fulham are targeting a player that their manager is a fan of, there is a bad omen amongst these comments.
Indeed, while Silva praised Doucoure, he also hailed Nathaniel Chalobah at the same time – a player he has since also signed for Fulham.
To say that Chalobah has been an underwhelming player for the Cottagers would be an understatement. He’s barely gotten a game this season, and when he has played he’s been poor, playing terribly against Crawley in the cup and earning a reckless and ridiculous red card against Newcastle in the league.
Silva is an unbelievable coach, but after signing the likes of Chalobah and Domingos Quina after his time at Watford, you have to question whether going back to that well is such a good idea for Fulham.
