Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a transfer for Pau Torres and the Villarreal star has now expressed his fond admiration of the Premier League, via TuttoMercatoWEB.
But while the Spaniard appreciates the level of competition in England like in Spain, he has not yet studied moving. Instead, Torres has bid to give El Submarino Amarillo his full focus ahead of their Champions League semi-final second-leg at home to Liverpool this Tuesday.

Villarreal lost 2-0 at Anfield in the first-leg last week, with Torres starting beside Raul Albiol at centre-half. The 25-year-old has not missed a second of UEFA football under Unai Emery this term over 11 ties. He has made 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

Tottenham interested in Pau Torres transfer from Villarreal
Torres has often been the rock of the Villarreal backline for the hometown hero to attract Tottenham’s transfer interest. La Razon recently reported Spurs are likely to approach the Estadio de la Ceramica outfit to discuss the defender’s transfer after missing out last year.
The 17-cap Spain international snubbed moving to north London to focus on playing in the Champions League with Emery’s side. Now, Tottenham face rival interest from Chelsea for Torres, with La Razon also noting the Blues see him as a replacement for Antonio Rudiger.
Manchester City and United have regularly sent scouts to Spain to monitor his progress, as well, per CBS. Torres has several suitors at his door as a €55-60m (£46-50m) release clause in the defender’s Villarreal contract running to 2024 will become active from this summer.

A release clause makes Torres an easy target for Tottenham or one of their rival suitors to sign from Villarreal. CBS also add the centre-back should decide his future for next season soon. But the Spaniard has not yet let himself consider leaving the Ceramica and his home.
“The Premier League is a high-level league, just like La Liga,” Torres expressed. “Today, I don’t care about anything else, except playing the Champions League semi-final with the team of my city.”
Emery will need Torres at top form against Liverpool for Villarreal to reach the Champions League final, which would go to show why Tottenham et al are interested in his transfer.
