Rangers should be looking to bring Brandon Barker to Ibrox.
Rangers are already putting their summer plans into place, as Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield are set to sign for the club once their respective deals at Hull City and Burnley expire this summer.
The Gers are also pressing ahead with their plans to appoint Steven Gerrard as their new manager, with the Liverpool Under-18 coach in the box seat to come in as Graeme Murty’s replacement.
Director of Football Mark Allen appears to be calling the shots, and with the former Manchester City academy director in charge of transfers at Ibrox, it would be little surprise to see him return for a City talent.
Allen brought Aaron Nemane to Rangers last summer having worked with the winger at City, and another wide man fits the bill for the Gers this summer; Hibernian loanee Brandon Barker.
Barker, 21, has spent the season on loan at Easter Road and has hit two goals and four assists in 27 games for Hibs this season, earning praise from fans for his displays.
A former England Under-20 international, Barker is now approaching an age where he needs regular first-team football, and he has told The Scottish Sun that he would be open to staying in Scotland with Hibs.
However, Rangers chief Allen saw Barker become a hot prospect at the Etihad Stadium, and with Rangers certainly needing wingers, Allen should be considering hijacking Hibs’ interest and reuniting with Barker at Ibrox, giving him a chance to play regularly and fulfil his potential.
