Hibernian ace Jason Cummings has been linked with Rangers.
New Hibernian boss Neil Lennon says he plans talks with Jason Cummings as he hopes the forward will remain at the Edinburgh side amid interest in his services, Herald Scotland reports.
Cummings has enjoyed another fine season at Hibs, notching more than 40 goals over the past two campaigns and as such attracting plenty of interest from rival clubs.
According to a recent report in The Scottish Sun, Rangers are among the most likely to tempt Hibs with an offer this summer though the report says the forward could cost the Gers as much as £1 million.
Lennon, however, hopes Cummings sticks around at Hibs as he plans talks with him in the coming days.
“John (McGinn) and Jason (Cummings) are excellent players who have just had terrific seasons. They are vital to what I want to do so I’d like to sit down and speak to the both of them,” Lennon told Herald Scotland.
“I’m hoping they will see things my way and want to stay for a while.”
Cummings seems to relish playing for Hibs, yet the club’s failure to join Rangers in promotion from the Scottish Championship leaves them in a vulnerable position this summer.
The Ibrox club will be looking to strengthen their forward line ahead of a potential Scottish Premiership title challenge next season, and the addition of Cummings would be most welcomed by their supporters.
The 20-year-old scored four times past Rangers this past season and helped Hibs defeat Mark Warburton’s men 3-2 in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.
