The Hoops have been “less than convincing” in the Scottish Premiership in recent weeks, claims the Hibs legend.

Celtic have been less than convincing in the last few weeks, the Parkhead side’s players may or may not have acknowledged this in the back of their minds, and Hibernian are more than capable of beating them in their upcoming Scottish Premiership fixture, according to Hibs legend Michael Weir.
The Hoops are 11 points clear of second-placed Rangers at the top of the table with five games to go, so barring a catastrophic collapse in form under Neil Lennon combined with Gers winning all their remaining games, the title is likely to stay at Parkhead.
However, Lennon’s charges have put in a number of performances which, though yielding points, haven’t exactly conveyed dominance, while their last fixture, against Livingston, ended in a meek goalless draw.
Hibs host Celtic at Easter Road on 21 April, a repeat of the 2017-18 fixture which took place on 21 April 2018 at the same ground, notable for the hosts winning 2-1 and delaying the Glasgow side’s title celebrations (BBC Sport).

Weir wrote in the Edinburgh Evening News: “The Glasgow side have yet to clinch the title and will be anxious to wrap it up as quickly as possible although it is only a matter of time before they do so.
“I don’t know if that’s been at the back of their players’ minds but Celtic have been less than convincing in recent weeks and I see no reason why Hibs can’t beat them as they did this time last year.”
Hibs and Celtic have played four times this season – thrice in the Scottish Premiership, with one Hibs win and two Hoops wins, and once in the Scottish Cup, the Glasgow side knocking their opponents out at the quarter-final stage.
