Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Bournemouth wasn’t the hammer blow many though, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men are still set to make the top four.

If there is one positive to come out of Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend it is that Heung-Min Son should be fresh for their clash against Ajax tomorrow.
Tottenham need to overturn a 1-0 deficit in Holland if they are to make it through in the Champions League, and their preparation was far from ideal.
Spurs were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth on Saturday, and they had to play the second half with nine men.
Tottenham’s players had to expend a lot of energy, as they looked to overcome their numerical disadvantage.
Son was one of the Spurs players to get sent off in the first-half, when he aggressively pushed Jefferson Lerma.
And while Son’s exit from the field was a major blow to Tottenham at the time, it could work out in their favour in the long run.

Son was a huge miss in the first leg of the tie, as Tottenham just couldn’t hurt Ajax’s defence at White Hart Lane.
But the South Korean will now be fully fit and refreshed as Tottenham travel to mainland Europe to meet the Dutch giants.
And if Son is at his best then Spurs may well stand a chance of making it into the Champions League final.
