Chelsea are nine points clear of Spurs in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur did their best to stay in touch with the Premier League leaders Chelsea this weekend by beating Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.

Spurs looked to be heading to aa frustrating 0-0 draw, after dominating for much of the game.

But in the end it was a penalty from Harry Kane that earned Tottenham all three points in the Premier League.

The penalty was given after some good play from Heung-min Son. The South Korean international bamboozled his defender Bernardo Espinosa and earned the penalty kick that won Spurs the game.

It was another good performance from the player, who is currently in good form for the club.

After the game he was even asked about the club’s title chances. He told the BBC:

“We keep it game to game.

“Now we’ve won it is very important but it’s a long season. We need to focus on game to game.”

The result means Spurs remain nine points behind Chelsea but are starting to look increasingly like the biggest rivals to Antonio Conte’s men this season.

Chelsea beat Spurs’ bitter rivals Arsenal earlier today and Tottenham will now be hoping to stretch away from the Gunners in the weeks to come.

If they can carry on picking up these tough wins then Tottenham will undoubtedly be in the race.
