Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been in superb form this season.

Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, and raved about the quality of his teammate Harry Kane, labelling him as the best player in the world.

The 24-year-old England international is currently unavailable for selection, having sustained an ankle injury during his side’s win at Bournemouth two weeks ago.

Kane has scored 35 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions so far this season, and he will be sorely missed until he returns to action.

Until then, Son will have a huge role to play for Spurs.

The South Korean has been in fine form himself this season, chalking up 18 goals and nine assists in 44 outings thus far.

Mauricio Pochettino has favoured playing the 25-year-old through the middle as a central striker during Kane’s absence, and there is no reason why that will change.

Son spoke exclusively to Sky Sports, and made the bold claim that Kane is the best player in the world:

“Harry Kane is, of course, a very important player for England because he’s the best player in the world. This is football, so sometimes you get injuries, but as Tottenham we need to play without Harry. It’s very sad but the other players have to be ready. I’m not like Harry, I’m just trying to practice every day, but it’s a good opportunity to make something happen.”

Next up for Tottenham is their huge clash with Chelsea on April 1st, and Kane faces a race to be fit. If he doesn’t prove his fitness in time, however, Son will likely deputise for the Englishman once again, and he will have to be at his very best, if his side are to stand any chance whatsoever of leaving Stamford Bridge with maximum points.
