Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side ran out winners in their first match with Harry Kane at the weekend.

Heung-Min Son has suggested to the Daily Mirror that Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura is ready to step up and replace Harry Kane.

Tottenham are set to be without Kane for the rest of the season, after the striker damaged his ankle against Manchester City last week.

The loss of Kane at such an important time in the campaign is a major blow for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

However, Tottenham were the dominant force at the weekend against Huddersfield Town, as they won 4-0 with Moura hitting a hat-trick.

And Son feels that Moura’s goals have shown that he is ready to step up and fill the void that Kane has left in Tottenham’s squad.

“Of course Harry’s a big miss for us. But we have a big squad. Lucas showed that with three goals,” Son said.

Everyone is ready for this race and every single game. Of course we are happy with this result but we have many games left until the end of the season. I hope we can keep up this level of performance.”

Whether Moura, who is on an £80,000-a-week contract at Spurs (Sportac), will start on Wednesday evening in the second-leg against City is still in up the air.

Tottenham have a 1-0 lead to protect, and it is debatable whether Pochettino will use the pace of Moura from the start, or use Fernando Llorente to hold the play up.
