Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Leeds United ace Tyler Roberts has been waxing-lyrical about Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips has proven himself to be one of the Premier League’s top midfielders this term, and Roberts believes he’s now shown what he’s about at the top level.
What’s been said?
Roberts was speaking about Leeds’ season, and inevitably, he got onto the subject of Phillips after he was named in the England squad for the Euros/
“Kalv’s with England now and he’s stepped up, he’s gone up a level,” Roberts said.
Roberts was then asked if he thinks Phillips should start for England, to which he replied:
“I think it depends on the way the manager wants to play. The way Kalvin plays, I love it, because if I want a CDM I want him because when he gets on it he’s hitting diagonals. I’d start him in any team really. He’s definitely shown what he’s about this season and he’s upped his game.”

More to come
Even though Phillips has stepped up a gear this season, we have to feel that there’s still more to come from him.
The England star has found his feet in the Premier League, and at times he’s absolutely ran games on his own.
However, every summer he seems to find another gear, and after a summer at the Euros with England, he may hone his craft even more.
As scary as this sounds, there could still be more to come from Phillips.
