It isn’t the transfer rumour that Liverpool fans are looking for, but it’s one that they’re liking nonetheless.
The Reds’ fanbase are desperate to see Jurgen Klopp sign a central defender this month.
Liverpool have performed admirably in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, both of whom have suffered long-term knee problems, but Klopp’s side are seven points behind leaders Manchester City and they need to get their title defence back on track.
It remains to be seen whether the Premier League champions will sign a defender during the final week of the January window, but they have reportedly contacted Fluminense about signing a wonderkid.
According to UOL, Liverpool are in touch over signing the 17-year-old Brazilian starlet, who also has admirers in Manchester City and Shakhtar Donetsk.
And although he isn’t a centre-back or even someone who can help the Anfield side to the title this season, some fans are still excited by the prospect of seeing him on Merseyside.
