Gabriel Agbonlahor has raved about Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa on Twitter.
The former Villa striker was impressed with the display produced by Konsa during the Villans’ 1-0 win against Sheffield United at Villa Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.
The 22-year-old defender scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute.
According to WhoScored, the former England Under-21 international took one shot which was on target, had a pass accuracy of 86.5%, won seven headers, took 53 touches, and made one tackle, two interceptions and four clearances.
Important player for Aston Villa
Konsa has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2019 when he joined from Brentford.
According to WhoScored, the defender made 24 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Villans last season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.
With Villa looking to do better than just avoid relegation from the Premier League this season, Konsa will play an important role for Dean Smith’s side and will have to be on top of his game, like he was against the Blades on Monday.
