Kieran Trippier has raved about his Atletico Madrid teammate and reported Arsenal target Thomas Partey on The Beautiful Game Podcast.

The former Tottenham Hotspur right-back has said that Partey is an unbelievable player, and has added that the defensive midfielder would not have any problem in the Premier League.

The Telegraph reported in May of Arsenal’s interest in signing the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.

The Ghana international himself wants to make the switch to the Gunners and has a release clause of £45 million in his contract at Atletico, according to the report.

Trippier said about Partey on The Beautiful Game Podcast, as transcribed by Football.London: “I’d seen him play for Atletico but I didn’t realise how good he is. He’s unbelievable, his physicality, how he breaks up play.

“Technically he’s got everything. He ranks as one of the best midfielders I’ve played with, but Mousa [Dembele] is Mousa and he’s on a different planet that guy. Even in training he was in cruise control.

“Thomas is still a very young player and everyone loves him out here. Going to the Premier League who knows? Obviously I want him to stay here because he’s a valuable member to our team.

“He speaks perfect English, very good English. I don’t think he’d have a problem with the Premier League.”

Good signing for Arsenal?

Partey is a very good defensive midfielder who is at the top of his game and would be able to make an immediate impact at Arsenal.

The Gunners could do with a defensive midfielder like Partey who can hold his own in the middle of the park and can add steel to a team.

However, with the Gunners unlikely to finish in the Champions League places this season, the North London outfit could struggle to come up with the finances.
