Southampton forward Theo Walcott has raved about Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on talkSPORT and has said that the Gunners star is “top quality”.

Walcott, a former Arsenal player, made the comments about Saka while giving his reason why the 21-year-old should start for England against Iran.

The £70,000-a-week (The Daily Mail) Arsenal star has been included in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

And Walcott believes that Saka, who plays on the right of a front-three for Arsenal, should start for England in their opening game against Iran.

Walcott said: “It’s got to be Saka, Kane and… Sterling. He’s always done so well in and England shirt.

“I know there are players in form like Rashford and people like this. You could try them, but in the first game you want to have people with experience in tournament football.

“I know Saka’s a bit more inexperienced, but he’s top quality and I’d play Maddison behind Kane. I’m a big fan of him so I’m so pleased he’s gone.”

Big player

In our view, Bukayo Saka has been in brilliant form for Arsenal so far this season and will be a big player for England at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

Just as he was at the Euro 2020 finals.

The 21-year-old is a very dynamic player who is quick, works hard, scores goals and creates chances.

Saka has scored four goals and given six assists in 14 Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.

The Arsenal no. 7 has made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for the Gunners so far this campaign.

Saka has scored one goal in those matches.
