Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Trent Alexander-Arnold admitted he’d like Jürgen Klopp to sign Tottenham forward Heung-min Son.
What’s the story?
Well, the Liverpool No.66 was asked which two Premier League players he’d bring to Anfield if he had the choice.
Alexander-Arnold opted for Kevin De Bruyne in addition to Son – two decent options, to say the least!
Speaking to the Premier League on YouTube, the 23-year-old said: “De Bruyne and Son. De Bruyne, I admire him a lot as a player. The assists, and the chances he creates, it’s frightening.
“Son, an outstanding player, with his finishing and composure.”
Interestingly, the fact Alexander-Arnold wants Son at Liverpool suggests he feels there could be some improvement on the left of Klopp’s attack.
At the moment, that is where Sadio Mane resides, and despite his brilliance, it’s clear that the Liverpool No.10 is slowly starting to decline.
The 29-year-old scored 22 Premier League goals in 2018/19, before netting 18 Premier League goals in 2019/20.

However, Mane only scored 11 Premier League goals last season, and hasn’t looked as deadly as we know he can be so far this season.
Should Liverpool replace Sadio Mane?
In our view, the need to replace Mane is far more pressing than the need for a new centre-forward, especially with Diogo Jota starring centrally.
When Mohamed Salah eventually leaves, Klopp has Harvey Elliott to step in, but in Mane’s position, there is no obvious heir already at Anfield.
Therefore, we feel this is a position Liverpool’s recruitment team should be finding a new option in soon.
In our view, the chances of that man being Son are unlikely.

The South Korean forward only recently signed a new four-year contract at Tottenham in July, and he would surely cost an eye-watering sum.
It also seems highly unlikely that Spurs would sell to a direct rival in the Premier League.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Alexander-Arnold’s comments…
