Speaking to Goal’s YouTube channel, Danny Welbeck has been asked to name the best footballer he has ever played with.
This is a tough task for Welbeck as he has played alongside genuinely some of the greatest players in history.
The likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil have all played alongside Welbeck at one point or another, but according to the England international, Santi Cazorla is the best footballer he has ever shared a pitch with.

Cazorla the best
Welbeck discussed the ex-Arsenal midfielder.
“It’s a very difficult one because I have played with numerous amounts of players,” Welbeck said.
“One who was really, really gifted was Santi Cazorla. He was incredible, left, right foot. Footballing intelligence, receiving the ball, playing passes through, breaking the lines and stuff like that. He’s the one where I was like ‘wow’.”
What a player
The fact that Welbeck has picked Cazorla over the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney and Ozil is just a testament to how naturally talented the Spaniard was.
He was never, the fastest, the strongest or the biggest, but his mind was just two steps ahead of every other player on the pitch.
There’s a reason the 38-year-old is still one of the best players in Qatar, he doesn’t need his physical skills to outclass everyone else, his footballing IQ was enough to make any rival player look like an absolute fool.
Cazorla was a one of a kind player, and he’s certainly one of the best the Premier League has seen in recent history.
Welbeck may be right, in terms of natural gifts, Cazorla could be the best he’s shared a pitch with.
