Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has claimed that Alessandro Bastoni is Tottenham’s top target at centre-back.
Spurs head into this summer transfer window with big ambitions, and one area that needs bolstering is the defence.
Indeed, while Ben Davies has done a magnificent job at centre-half this season, he’s not quite at the very top level.
Spurs want a new left-sided centre-half, and Bastoni is reportedly at the top of their list of targets.

Gold discussed how much Spurs want Bastoni.
“Who else have we got? Conte and Paratici both love Alessandro Bastoni. That’s going to be more difficult, of course it is, he’s very highly-rated. He’s in the last two years of his contract but Inter still want pretty big money for him, but maybe that’s one of the big signings, he’s pretty much the one they want to go for in the centre-back department, there’s a list and you’ll see a million names linked to Spurs, but Bastoni, I’m pretty sure he’s the one they want,” Gold said.

If Tottenham land Bastoni this summer, they will have one of the meanest defences in the Premier League.
Cristian Romero and Eric Dier have both been utterly fantastic since Conte arrived at the club, and with Bastoni partnering them, it’s hard to imagine Spurs conceding on a regular basis next season.
Of course, at the age of just 23, Bastoni could have a bit of an adaption period in the Premier League, but once he gets to grip with the rigours of English football, he should become a star.
Conte and Paratici love Bastoni, and that’s because he’s an incredibly talented player.
