Everton fans love that Christophe Galtier said that his dream has never been to manage Liverpool.
Speaking to Canal+ earlier this year – as transcribed by Homme Du Match – Galtier clarified comments about Liverpool – where it was previously though that he would love to manage the Reds.
He said: “I know how to speak English, but I need to get better. My dream isn’t Liverpool.”
With Galtier now linked heavily with Everton, those comments are certainly standing in his favour.
BeFoot say that Everton have made an approach to land Galtier, as they seek Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.
And after seeing his past comments on Liverpool, many Everton supporters are even more behind the idea of appointing the Frenchman.
Strong candidate
Galtier’s appointment at Goodison Park would be exciting for other reasons, rather than his past comments on the Toffess’ rivals too.
The 54-year-old has just led Lille to a shock Ligue 1 triumph, as he found a way to topple PSG.
He has never managed in England before, but his stock has never been higher than it is right now.
And if he could get Everton punching above their weight in the same way he did at Lille, he could be a very exciting appointment for the Goodison Park club.
