Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Sergio Ramos. According to a report in 90min published on Thursday, Spurs are among a number of clubs interested in signing the Real Madrid central defender.

It has been reported that Tottenham have reached out to the representatives of the 34-year-old, who is out of contract at Madrid at the end of the season. Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are also claimed to be interested in securing the services of the Spain international centre-back on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.

Ramos worked with Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho at Madrid, and although their relationship was not perfect, as outlined on Ronaldo.com and Goal.com, the former Sevilla star has publicly praised the Portuguese in the past.

Marca quoted Ramos as saying on February 10, 2012 that his relationship with Mourinho was “good, honest and open. I respect his decisions and he’s the best coach there is, as far as I’m concerned”.

Ramos is one of the best centre-backs in the world, and although he will be 35 next summer, as Thiago Silva is showing at Chelsea at the moment, class is permanent.

The Spaniard would be a brilliant signing for Spurs even for a season or two, but one suspects that for that to happen, the North London club will need to finish in the Champions League places in the Premier League table this campaign.
