Speaking on Goal’s YouTube channel, Paul Robinson has backed Dele Alli to turn things around at Tottenham and work his way back into the team.
Alli has obviously been a bit of an outcast this season under Jose Mourinho, starting just once in the Premier League this season, and unsurprisingly, his absence has led to links away from the club.
However, Robinson believes that Alli has conducted himself impeccably during this time, and despite being linked with a move away from the club, Robinson thinks he still has a future at Spurs.
“Dele, a player that I’ve got to give a lot of credit to. I think there’ve been a lot of question marks about his future with Mourinho around, he’s been left out of teams, he’s not played a lot of football this season,” Robinson said (Goal in-play 2:28:00)
“More often than not with players in that situation, you hear noises coming out ‘oh he’s leaving’ his agent will come out and say something, we’ve seen Pogba at United, different players.
“Give Dele Alli a lot of credit, he’s kept himself fit, and when he’s been given an opportunity he’s taken that opportunity, we’ve not heard anything from him since he’s been left out of the team, and every opportunity he’s been given to play he’s taken.
“I think he’s still got a future at Spurs, I think he can work his way back into this side.”

We can only hope that Robinson is right about this one.
Alli is a supremely talented player on his day, after all, he once scored 18 goals in a Premier League season, but for one reason or another, his performances have declined in recent years.
We all know that he has the ability in his locker to be a top-class player at this level, but he just needs to rediscover what made him a former PFA Young Player of the Year winner.
It’s impossible to completely write off a player like Dele Alli, but Robinson’s prediction does seem a little bit hopeful at this moment in time.
