Some Arsenal fans on social media believe Eddie Nketiah could be about to sign a new contract after his cryptic post on Instagram.
Football London journalist Kaya Kaynak re-posted Nketiah’s Instagram on Twitter, and while he thought it was a sign he could be leaving, supporters took things in another way.
Indeed, fans believe that the five-finger symbol along with two hourglasses meant that he was going to sign a new five-year deal.
We can see where their theory comes from. Many players have hinted at contract extensions in this way before, and we do know that Arsenal have offered Nketiah a new deal, but five years does sound a little far-fetched.
Charles Watts claimed last week that Nketiah was only being offered a new contract to preserve his value, and that Arsenal were in-fact looking to cash in on him at some point, so to offer him a deal that runs for half a decade would make very little sense.
