Michael Owen has claimed that Liverpool forward Mo Salah is ‘so strong’ and it’s a part of his game that is ‘underplayed’, as he told Premier League Productions.
On Sunday, Salah showcased every ounce of talent he has in his boots, as he danced past Man City’s defence to score one of the great Liverpool goals.
It was a goal for the ages from Salah and one that will be remembered for a long time by the Anfield faithful.
But whilst some concentrate on the speed in which Salah moves the ball, the change of direction and close control like he has magnets in his boots, another one of his underrated attributes was spoken about.
Owen shared that the 5’7 goalscoring wideman is strong ‘like an ox’, as he shared an insight into previously interviewing him and talking about his gym work.
“His strength, that’s underplayed,” said Owen. “His strength. He is like an OX. He is so strong.
“I did an interview with him. He couldn’t believe how little I did in the gym. And he says ‘everyday, I work for a long period of time in the gym, working on his strength’.
“Watch people, they bounce off him. The strength to knock people off the ball, then the skill and then the finish.
“He is just outstanding on so may fronts.”

Already this season, Salah has whipped off his shirt to showcase his ripped physique.
And given the number of goals he is scoring, he might just end up doing it a few more times this season, especially if he is finding the back of the net like he did at the weekend.
Last season, Harry Kane was the one who stopped Salah from winning the Golden Boot, but already this season, the Spurs hitman is yet to get off the mark.
Salah will want that top crown once more, and given that he is probably the best player in the world right now, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be holding that trophy aloft at the end of the campaign.
