Tim Sherwood has labelled Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka as a ‘superstar’ following their 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby.
Bukayo Saka had in hand for both goals scored by Arsenal, including the second-half penalty, which Tim Sherwood says was taken in such a ‘calm’ manner by the youngster, as he told Premier League Productions (24/09/23 at 8:50 pm).
These games are played under the highest of pressures, yet, over the years, Bukayo Saka hasn’t ever showcased nerves or not stepped up to the mark for his team.
The 22-year-old’s battle with Tottenham’s rising 20-year-old star Destiny Udogie made for interesting viewing.
It could be argued that Bukayo Saka was winning the exchange during the first half, but the Tottenham left-back then started getting the better of the Hale-End star.
Either way, the England international is a player who Tim Sherwood admires greatly, as he explained why.

‘Superstar’ Bukayo Saka on the rise
“It’s just calm,” said Sherwood when describing Saka’s penalty. “This is a pressure cooker of an environment this north London derby and this boy is so cool.
“He just waits for Vicario to dive and then just lifts it. He is just class, this kid. This boy is a superstar. On the big occasions, he always turns up and he was there (against Tottenham) when he was needed.”

Saka going right to the top
Running the show in the Premier League and now showing consistency, there is only one way that Saka is headed and that’s right to the top.
In midweek, he netted his first senior goal in the Champions League as Arsenal brushed aside PSV.
If he performs on that stage, like he has been doing in England, then his already-growing status will only sky-rocket even further.
