Queens Park Rangers talisman Ebere Eze has opened up on his admiration for Dele Alli amid speculation that a pair of exciting attacking midfielders could soon be linking at Tottenham Hotspur, while speaking to the Beautiful Game Podcast.
Like a man who has risen to the very top of the European game in north London after being plucked from MK Dons as a budding teenager, Eze is a player with Premier League potential who appears to have outgrown the relatively small pond that is Loftus Road.
The England U21 international has ability by the bucketload and, with 12 goals and eight assists to his name this season, is adding a ruthless streak to his dazzling dribbling skills and defence-splitting capabilities.
As a result, The Sun suggests that Tottenham are keen to snap up Eze from their London neighbours in a potential £20 million deal , five years after they raided MK Dons for a fresh-faced Alli.
And with the former seemingly heading to the top-flight sooner rather than later, there are few better players than Alli to take inspiration from.

“He’s shown that it’s possible to go from lower league and fit right in and even become more than what people expected you to be,” said Eze, who was released by Arsenal in his teenage days.
“When you look at guys like that, just like Raheem [Sterling] and [Jadon] Sancho, you appreciate what they’ve done and you look at them and it’s a round of applause to you because they’ve actually done it.”
Alli looked a man reborn when Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino on the Tottenham touchline in November but his form had dipped alarmingly once again before the 2019/20 campaign was brought to a shuddering halt.
And unless Alli can rediscover his golden touch again, his place will come under more threat than ever before with Eze potentially set to join him in the Spurs dressing room.
