Tim Sherwood has told the Kelly and Wrighty Show that he believes Jose Mourinho has now spotted the big weaknesses in Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld’s game.
Dier and Alderweireld have emerged as Tottenham’s first choice defensive pairing this season, and they have looked solid in recent weeks.
Spurs have conceded just once in their last four outings, but Sherwood thinks that Mourinho has changed his tactics to accommodate the pair.
“He’s done a brilliant job overall, you’d have to say,” Sherwood said.
“Alderweireld and Dier, he’s realised that they can defend the penalty area very well but they’re not very good on the half-way line.
“He’s brought the whole team back, so they’re very energetic.”
Dier and Alderweireld’s partnership will actually be broken up for Tottenham this weekend, which could be a concern.

Alderweireld has picked up an injury which is set to be keep him out for around a month.
Tottenham will now be relying on Davinson Sanchez or Joe Rodon to step in against Chelsea, and the pressure will be on, as the London derby already looks like a huge game for both sides.
With Spurs leading the way in the Premier League table another victory really would send out of a message about their title ambitions this season.
