Adam Lallana has praised the leadership qualities of Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson on Sky Sports, after the European Super League collapsed before everyone’s eyes on Tuesday night.
In one of the craziest nights in English football, all six English clubs, including Liverpool, who were planning on participating in the ESL, were putting out statements saying they were no longer going to be taking part in the money-grabbing league.
Henderson, who has shown his leadership qualities off the field during the pandemic already, put out a statement on his Twitter account making it clear that ‘we don’t like it and we don’t want it to happen’.
Brighton midfielder, Lallana, who is close friends with Henderson, shared that he wasn’t surprised by the ‘proven’ leadership skills his former teammate has showcased.
“No, not at all he’s proven on countless number of occasions that he leads all the captains and the football club,” said Lallana.
“I think what this has shown is that, football together, we are stronger than anything or anyone. It’s great to see all the football clubs as one.”
Lallana also added on his Instagram story about Liverpool: “Great team, great club and great values.”

Has there ever been a bigger car crash than the European Super League? Because this has been one of the biggest own goals in the history of the game.
The traditions and history of English football were being tested by this European Super League.
And without any warning, all associated with the game, came out roaring and fighting, and as a result, put to bed this pocket-filling idea.
Adios, Florentino Pérez!
