‘He’s playing games’: Roy Keane thinks Tottenham players need to change their mood

Roy Keane told Sky Sports PL (29/11/20 at 6:50 pm) that Tottenham players should have been ‘delighted’ with their draw at Chelsea despite Jose Mourinho’s comments.

The Spurs boss stated that after Sunday’s match that his dressing room is ‘not happy’ with how things panned out at Stamford Bridge.

“The one thing I take from the game is that drawing here, normally is a positive result,” said Mourinho. “To stay at the top of the league with that result is also a positive thing.

“And my dressing room is not happy! That’s the best thing I take from the game. We are not happy. That for me is fantastic. It’s a complete change of mentality and a complete change of personality. That’s what makes me really, really happy that we are not happy with a draw.”

That one point was enough to ensure that Spurs head into their derby clash against Arsenal at the top of the table.

Given their current status, Keane thinks that the players should change their mood and be ‘delighted’ rather than feeling down about the situation.

And the outspoken TV pundit thinks Mourinho is just ‘playing games’ regarding the matter.

“Jose’s on about there that the players are fairly disappointed in the dressing room,” said Keane. “They should be delighted. This is the same team that finished sixth last year and celebrated on the pitch like they won the league. And Jose was skipping down the tunnel.

“I think he is playing games with that. He’ll be delighted.”

As the Premier League begins to enter a crucial, yet difficult festive period, Mourinho and his Spurs side are in control of matters in the Premier League.

If they can maintain course during these next few months then those calls of them potentially winning the title at the end of the season will only get louder.
