Jose Mourinho has described Joe Rodon as ‘perfect’ to Football London, saying that the Tottenham Hotspur defender always impresses him in training.
Rodon has struggled for game time at Tottenham recently, with Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier all favoured to him of late.
Even Japhet Tanganga has got game time more recently than Rodon for Spurs.
But when asked what the Welshman needs to do to break back into his side, Mourinho could hardly have sounded happier with the summer signing.
“He has to do nothing. He works very hard, good professional. He has to do nothing,” he said.
“He cannot play in the Europa League so that makes his chances reduced, in relation to the other guys.
“Centre-back is a position where of course if he was in the Europa League he would have lots of chances to play in these 11 matches that we did.
“There’s nothing. He’s perfect, works very hard, young guy, wants to learn, very enthusiastic, He played already matches that represent a lot, he played important matches against some of the best teams. He has just to wait for his opportunities and to get it.”

Mourinho has actually always spoken very positively about Rodon, but he has been cautious over using the 23-year-old.
Rodon has played in some big games for Tottenham – namely against Chelsea and Liverpool – but there have been signs over why he is not a permanent starter yet.
Rodon has shown all the potential which made Spurs fork out to sign him from Swansea City last summer.
However, he has also made some errors, which will need to be ironed out if he is to come in and stake a claim to be a regular starter.
Tottenham actually have a very busy week coming up, and it could be that Rodon is given a chance to impress at some point against Fulham or Crystal Palace.
