Liverpool fans think that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s time at Anfield is coming to an end, after he was omitted from their starting line-up last night.
With Liverpool low on numbers at the back, Jordan Henderson was forced into defence, which left a space open in the middle of the pitch against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Jurgen Klopp opted to go with James Milner over Oxlade-Chamberlain, and pushed Thiago into a more advanced role.
The £35 million man (BBC Sport) has still only made two starts this season in the Premier League, although he was injured for the early part of campaign.
But Liverpool supporters are worried that the England international is slipping down the pecking order again, and fear that his exit could be creeping ever closer.
An Oxlade-Chamberlain departure is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility, although if Liverpool did let him go, they may have to entirely reshuffle their midfield in the summer.
The Reds could also lose Georginio Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri at the end of the campaign, and whether Klopp would be happy to sanction so many midfielders’ departures in one transfer window is very much up for debate.
