Everton have just sold a player and it could have implications for Liverpool, in a good way.

The Toffees have offloaded Kieran Dowell to Norwich City after their relegation from the Premier League.

For much of the early part of this year, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Canaries attacker Todd Cantwell.

Back in March it was reported by The Independent that the Reds were keen on bringing the 22-year-old to Anfield.

And last month, fans of the newly-crowned Premier League champions were calling on Jurgen Klopp to sign him following City’s defeat by Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The former Everton player and Cantwell both operate in the same role on the field, and Norwich fans on Twitter believe that Dowell’s arrival spells the end of Cantwell.

Here’s how fans of the Carrow Road club are reacting:

This is definitely realistic for Liverpool, who don’t seem to have much money available for transfers.

If they couldn’t afford Timo Werner at £47 million, Klopp probably isn’t being given the keys to the vault this summer and therefore economy – like, say, signing relegated players – might be the order of the summer.
