Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are worried by Divock Origi’s post-match gesture last night.
The Reds lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time in their history after beating Chelsea 5-3 in a pulsating last game at Anfield for the 2019-20 campaign.
It’s the first time that Liverpool have been crowned champions of England for 30 years and celebrations inside and outside the stadium were wild.
All of the players eventually left the field but the Belgian striker returned by himself at one point and stood in front of an empty Kop.
And some Liverpool supporters believe that it could be a sign that he’s saying goodbye. Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:
Origi only started six of his 27 Premier League appearances this season, scoring three times, but he deserved another season on Merseyside.
Last term, he scored a series of hugely-important goals toward the end of the 2018-19 campaign, including a brace against Barcelona in their miraculous Champions League comeback, and another in the final some weeks later.
For those goals alone, he is very fondly remembered by the Anfield faithful, but he simply isn’t going to play regularly under Jurgen Klopp so perhaps an exit is best.
