Rangers are seeking a new manager after Steven Gerrard quit Ibrox to take charge at Aston Villa, but Jack Wilshere backs Frank Lampard to become the next Norwich City head coach.
The Canaries hot seat is one of several Premier League jobs to become available recently after sacking Daniel Farke. Following Newcastle United, who fired Steve Bruce, Tottenham Hotspur parting with Nuno Espirito Santo and Villa sacking Dean Smith.
Lampard is a candidate to replace Gerrard at Rangers after he left on Thursday to return to England. With The Guardian noting Lampard is one of many coaches under consideration.

But talkSPORT also expect Norwich to appoint Lampard as their next manager, with talks advancing at a productive pace. Potentially hindering Rangers’ search for Gerrard’s heir.
The Canaries are keen to hire Lampard as he developed a number of young players while at Chelsea. Which remains the 43-year-old’s last job, after the Blues sacked him in January.
Lampard will face a relegation fight if he accepts an offer to be the next Norwich manager over Rangers. But former Arsenal and England midfielder Wilshere has told talkSPORT the Three Lions icon can keep the Canaries up and will not take the job thinking of relegation.
“Norwich is a good club,” Wilshere stated. “Okay, they might be going down. But he’s obviously prepared to try and build something there.
“He won’t be going into that job thinking: ‘We’ll be in the Championship next year’. He’s not that type of character.
“He’s a good manager, as well. Look what he did at Derby. I think he can [keep Norwich in the Premier League].”

Should Rangers hire Norwich manager target Lampard to replace Gerrard?
Rangers may have to act fast to hire Lampard as Gerrard’s replacement, and avoid Norwich making him their next manager.
Lampard is an interesting name for the Gers to consider, given his record bringing through younger players. Like Mason Mount, who he took on loan to Derby before the 22-year-old’s Chelsea breakthrough under his watch.
Mount now has a Champions League winners’ medal and helped England reach the Euro 2020 final this summer. He was also named in the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or.
